Tribal Canoe Journey
PANCF offers traditional canoe programming. With two cedar canoes PANCF takes youth, family and elders out on the water. Placing our paddles in the water together helps build community and teamwork.
Cultural Exchanges
PANCF sponsors cultural growth by offering various class, gatherings, and community events throughout the year. Below you can find additional information about the upcoming events and classes.
Education
PANCF partners with Indigenous educators, Indian Ed programs, and local organizations to provide place-based cultural education that centers PNW Tribal canoe practices.

Indigenous Traditional Cultural and Ecological Knowledge (ITECK)
As part of our Indigenous Climate Justice Project, in collaboration with PSU’s Indigenous Nations Studies and LSAMP programs, we are building an ITECK toolkit to document access to land and water stewardship projects that will restore and protect them, and build climate adaptation and resilience both locally and globally.
We are also developing an Indigenous Water Ecology curriculum that centers stories of the Columbia River Basin and will include a water quality program to teach youth and community to use Western tools to test pH, temperature, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen. These programs will include looking for macroinvertebrates to correlate to river or stream health and to understand how riparian environments contribute to healthy ecosystems.
